1 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon Mapleine (imitation maple flavoring)
Pour boiling water over sugar. Add 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring. Stir. Serve over pancakes or waffles.
THICK SYRUP (made with corn syrup)
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon Mapleine (or more to taste)
Boil all ingredients for 2 minutes. Syrup thickens as it cools. Makes 1 pint of flavorful syrup at little cost.

I have tried to make maple syrup in the past, but it was so watery I HATED it. Thanks for including a thick one! I'm going to have to try it!
Mikes family introduced us to vanilla syrup! you use more vanilla but it is my favorite now!
