Sift together into bowl:
1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
Stir in:
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp. oil
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Spread into a 9" square pan and sprinkle with 1 cup brown sugar mixed with 4 Tbsp. cocoa. Pour 1 3/4 cups hot water over mixture. Bake 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
